The most ethereal as well as the most elegant of Leflaive's whites is the 2021 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, a deep, full-bodied wine redolent of white flowers, sweet citrus oil, bread dough, iodine, fresh mint and wet stones. Satiny, layered and incisive, with lovely depth and purity, it's taut and electric, concluding with a long, chalky finish.
Brice de La Morandière and technical director Pierre Vincent described 2021 as a vintage full of uncertainties but with which they're ultimately very satisfied. Their approach to rot was rigorous sorting, fewer crumblings of the cake during pressing and separating the later press fractions more likely to be contaminated. That seems to have worked, as they have produced a range of impressive purity and good mid-palate density too.

OUR STORY
FOUNDERS AND BACKGROUND
Founders Marco Prete and Cristina Fragni have spent a lifetime in close contact with the top European winemakers and cellar masters, and have spent decades on their shared passion for learning, tasting, and even assisting in the production of fine wines.
After relocating to NYC in 2013, they found that many of their favorite vintages were not available in the US. Inspired by a lack of available inventory on the usual channels, they decided that it was essential to them personally and professionally to create a bespoke, world-class collection of fine wines available for US import.
The Wines of Kings collection of exquisite wines reflects the founders’ obsession with premium wines that are made authentically.
